Laptops can sometimes be pretty fragile, especially when carrying from one location to another. For this reason it is essential that you fully protect your laptop with a laptop bag to avoid any damage in transport.
Laptop bags come in three main varieties: shoulder bags, backpacks and sleeves. The difference between them is the shoulder bags have a single sling to be placed around one shoulder or across the chest, backpack bags are hands-free as have two shoulder straps, and sleeves you simply carry in one hand.
If you’re looking for the best protection, then it’s often the shoulder bags that will give you this. These generally have the most padding, and can therefore offer the most protection for your laptop against bumps and scrapes.
In terms of carrying convenience, then the laptop backpack option is by far the best one to choose. Both hands are left completely free to carry out other tasks and carrying something on your back with dual shoulder support is additionally the best way to carry heavy items, with the weight being distributed easily and evenly across both the shoulders and the upper the back.
Laptop sleeves are mostly designed as an additional layer of protection if you are carrying your laptop in another bag.
